Art From Future is excited to present their first exhibition of works by French artist FARAH, a show of original works, limited edition prints and NFTs.

The online exhibition — FARAH’s first solo show — is made up of original works on paper in paint, charcoal and marker pen, with one canvas. The star of the show is however the NFT, which Art From Future will accompany with advice on collecting digital works of art.

Bold, punchy and confrontational, French artist FARAH’s new series ‘Kill Your Ego’ is a reflection on the concept of ego death and our relationships with the ego in society and mythology. FARAH’s work revolves around what the death of ego means. So while the works are softened by looping typography and dripping lines, they hint at complex underlying topics.

Combining Jungian psychology with death and rebirth in mythology, for FARAH, ego death is the transformation of the psyche. In other words, that moment when heroes are in a phase of self-surrender and transition.

Ideas of complete loss of self-identity are mixed with the cyclical theory of hero myths, inspired by Joseph Campbell’s landmark comparative work ‘The Hero with a Thousand Faces’ (1949).

FARAH also deals with the narcissism and self-centeredness associated with the ego in her art. Today’s society values the ego through consumerism and social media, which encourage us to show off our ego more and more.

Artist FARAH said: “Doesn’t the ego act as a filter that distorts the vision we have of our life, of ourselves, of our ideas, of society? I want my work to make people question what they see and focus on their freedom instead. The simplicity of my work reminds us we are only mortal.”

Jessica Soueidi, founder of Art From Future, adds: “I’m thrilled to be showing FARAH’s new series of work as our first exhibition. Her work is exciting and fresh — exactly the qualities that Art From Future represents.

“It was a no-brainer to include an NFT on top of physical artworks; the aim of this project is to make the world of NFTs — just like art collecting — accessible to young buyers.”
